Effectiveness and tolerability of calcipotriol/betamethasone aerosol foam in patients with psoriasis vulgaris in real‐life setting: A prospective, noninterventional, multicenter observational study in Austria

Background For the topical treatment of plaque psoriasis, vitamin D analogues and corticosteroids are used as a fixed combination, which is available in different galenic preparations. Objective The aim this study was to investigate effectiveness tolerability calcipotriol/betamethasone (Cal/BD) cutaneous foam real-world setting. Methods Overall, 107 adult patients with at least mild psoriasis measured by Investigator Global Assessment (IGA) were included treated for 4 weeks. Affected body surface area (BSA), locations, Psoriasis Area Severity Index (PASI) documented baseline, after weeks end study. Pruritus, overall patient satisfaction, convenience use, well quality life (DLQI) also evaluated. Results In total, 96% suffered from moderate vulgaris. Of all included, 76% had previously received therapy. Under Cal/BD aerosol foam, mean IGA score reduced 2.49 1.28 points (p < 0.001). PASI 7.01 3.58 BSA improved 9.92% 4.19% 0.001) DLQI 7.81 2.43 Over 88% (84/95 patients) very satisfied or foam. described soothing (63/89), cooling (70/89), itch relieving (53/84). Lack efficacy an adverse event (AE) four patients. No other AEs observed. Conclusions vulgaris demonstrated be effective, tolerated associated high satisfaction.
